Microsoft Dynamics 365 Bridge to Cloud 3 (BTC3) Promotion

A customer-friendly overview of Microsoft's promotion for eligible Dynamics on-premises customers moving to Dynamics 365 online.

Bridge to Cloud 3, also called BTC3, is a Microsoft promotion that helps eligible commercial customers move from qualifying Microsoft Dynamics on-premises perpetual products to functionally similar Microsoft Dynamics 365 online products.

Promotion at a glance
  • Enrollment period: January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027
  • Discount: 30% off the standard commercial-segment list price for eligible products
  • Term: Fixed three-year, non-cancellable subscription term
  • Program: Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), New Commerce Experience (NCE), partner-led

Who may be eligible?

A customer generally must meet all applicable Microsoft requirements, including the following:

  • Own a qualifying Microsoft Dynamics on-premises perpetual license purchased before September 1, 2024.
  • Have an active Enhancement Plan, or meet Microsoft's conditions for a recently lapsed plan.
  • Move to a functionally similar eligible Dynamics 365 online commercial product on a three-year NCE term.
  • Be new to the selected Dynamics 365 online product, subject to Microsoft's limited exception for small prior test quantities.
  • Purchase and maintain enough eligible online licensing to meet the minimum annualized CSP value required by the promotion.

What is the minimum licensing requirement?

The annualized value of the eligible Dynamics 365 online licenses, calculated at promotional pricing before partner margin, must be at least equal to the customer's annual Enhancement Plan renewal amount. The required license mix and quantity therefore vary by customer.

If monthly billing is selected for the three-year subscription, Microsoft's standard NCE monthly-billing premium applies. Microsoft calculates promotional eligibility using the triennial term with annual billing price, so additional subscription value may be needed when monthly billing is used.

Can the existing on-premises system remain in use?

Yes. During the promotional term, qualifying customers may continue using, expanding and upgrading their existing eligible on-premises license while deploying Dynamics 365 online. Microsoft refers to this benefit as dual access rights. Additional on-premises users or functionality must still be licensed separately through the applicable on-premises licensing program.

What happens to the Enhancement Plan?

After enrollment is approved, Microsoft can renew the qualifying on-premises Enhancement Plan at no additional charge during the three-year promotional term, provided the customer continues to meet the promotion's licensing requirements. The existing Enhancement Plan anniversary date remains unchanged.

A customer who recently renewed may still enroll, but Microsoft does not provide a credit or refund for the unused portion of the already-paid Enhancement Plan term.

Are additional no-cost users available?

Some customers migrating from a concurrent-user Dynamics product, such as Dynamics NAV, to Dynamics 365 Business Central online may qualify for additional no-cost online users for up to two years. This benefit has separate spending thresholds and limits, and it does not provide additional users for the existing on-premises deployment.

Important commitments and limitations

  • The promotional subscription has a fixed three-year, non-cancellable term.
  • The promotion is non-renewable. Normal pricing applies when the promotional term ends.
  • Customers must maintain the required CSP subscription value throughout the term.
  • BTC3 cannot be combined with another Microsoft migration offer or promotion.
  • Customers previously enrolled in Bridge to the Cloud 1, Bridge to the Cloud 2, or another migration offer are not eligible for BTC3.
  • Microsoft may change or discontinue the promotion.
