Here’s an overview of what’s new or changed in the latest version of RUX Rentals, including solution revisions. 

If you self-manage updates, you should run the app update from your Business Central Admin Center. If you’re on the Update Protection Plan, this update will be applied for you.

New features & enhancements

New features and enhancements included in this release are: 

• A new Periodic/Standby Usage Worksheet allows periodic and standby usage updates to be managed across multiple rental lines within a contract, including support for filtering by assets and date ranges for faster bulk entry. 
• Email Scenario assignment setup supports Rental Quotes and Rental Contracts, allowing rental documents to use the appropriate email configuration when sent.
• Continuous Scanning supports adding both grouped and non-grouped rental units to Rental Documents.
• Rental Quotes and Rental Contracts support Responsibility Center filtering based on User Setup, restricting users from viewing rental documents outside their assigned responsibility center.
• Rental Package pages include a Rental Attributes option, allowing attributes to be managed directly from the package.
• A new On Rent Report provides visibility into rental equipment currently on rent by customer, with Job Queue support available for automatically sending the report on a recurring schedule.
• Rental and sales lines support item variants, with variant values carrying through sales and invoice flows and respecting the Variant Mandatory if Exists setting for consistent Business Central behavior.
• Rental Quote and Contract sales lines support Work Type Code, with values carrying through project planning lines, Make Contract, linked sales orders, invoices, proforma invoices, and auto credit memo flows.
• Rental Contract and Completed Rental Contract pages include a Posted Credit Memos option, giving users direct access to credit memos linked to the rental contract, including corrective and auto credit memo entries.
• Rental loss and damage returns use the selected return location when creating the related sales line, supporting returns to locations different from the original rental location.

Solution revisions

Solution revisions included in this release are: 

• Price Allocation Packages recalculate Package Line Amount Excl. Tax and Rental Unit pricing correctly when units are inserted into a package on the rental lines, ensuring pricing is redistributed using the updated allocation ratio across all package components.
• Dispatch Delivery Loads validate required Location Codes during the Release process, preventing loads with missing locations from being confirmed or processed further when Location Mandatory is enabled in Rental Management Setup.
• User Defined Billing Terms with Fixed Fee lines using Use Pricing from Setup apply the correct Fixed Fee pricing from the associated Price Card to the Rental Amount Lines. 
• Rental Quotes and Contracts apply Shipment Method, Shipping Agent, and Shipping Agent Service values from the selected Alternative Ship-to Address, with the values carrying through Archived Quote, Make Contract, Copy Document, and Transfer Document actions.
• Rental Inventory Availability excludes rental units linked to inactive items, and rental units reflect inactive status when the linked item is blocked.
• Transfer Contract worksheets only display Group rental lines when transferable child unit lines are included, preventing unnecessary Group lines from appearing during single unit transfers.
• Quick Rental transfers header dimensions to Rental Lines when creating rentals from the Group Availability Matrix or Inventory Availability Matrix.
• Rental Return Pick List, Dispatch Pick List, and Rental Pick List reports use the updated base Business Central address formatting logic, improving Ship-to and Sell-to address display consistency across report layouts.
• Rental shipment processing from the queue/desktop flow validates against the selected rental unit, ensuring the correct unit is used during shipment.
• Auto Credit Memos inherit the Salesperson Code directly from the Posted Sales Invoice, ensuring the original contract salesperson carries through to the credit memo.
• Rental Accrual calculates correctly when the return date is blank on the rental lines.
