COM error when installing Jet Reports Essentials

When you run the Jet Reports Essentials installation file on workstations which have Microsoft Office 64-bit, you may encounter the following error message: An unexpected error has occurred: Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Excel.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Application'.

To fix the issue, follow the steps below:

1. Open RegEdit application.
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{00020813-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\1.9\0\Win32.

3. Change the value of the Default key to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE.

4. Re-run the Jet Reports installation file.
